Event Summary

Calling all Pink Ladies and T-Birds! We're hosting the first-ever drive-in movie on the Santa Monica Pier and we couldn't be more stoked! On Thursday, January 15, we're screening the one and only GREASE under the stars at 6:30pm. Whether you're cruising in with your hot rod or setting up with blankets and chairs, it's time to grease lightning your way to an unforgettable night of nostalgia, community, and pure fun. Tell me about it, stud!

What to Expect

🍿 FREE POPCORN for the first 200 people
🍔 Bring your own snacks or support our local Pier businesses
🍹 Bar onsite for guests 21+ (no outside alcohol permitted)
🎶 Live entertainment all afternoon and evening
🎤 DJ spinning oldies before the movie
👗 1950s Costume Contest – Dress up as a Pink Lady, T-Bird, or rock any fabulous '50s look to win awesome Pier Prizes!

Ticketing

RSVP required via Eventbrite. Pick your perfect spot:

  • Chair Seating – BYOB&C (Bring Your Own Blanket & Chair) and claim your spot up front

  • Car Seating – Drive right onto the Pier and watch from your vehicle

Important: If selecting a car ticket, please have your party only select ONE car ticket per vehicle (not one per person). Tickets are limited—grab yours before they're gone!

Event Schedule

  • 3:30–5:30pm – Car arrivals & chair setup begins (early bird gets the best spot!)

  • 3:30pm & 4:30pm – Books & Cookies Musical Storytime at the Merry Go-Round

  • 4:00–6:00pm – DJ spinning oldies to set the vibe

  • 6:00–6:30pm – SAMOHI Acapella Performances

  • 6:30pm – GREASE screening begins

  • 8:00pm – Exit anytime after the movie wraps

If coming to the Pier, set your destination to 1550 Appian Way to be dropped off by the beach.

Metro

Walk to the Pier from the Downtown Santa Monica Expo Station, head west on Colorado Avenue and walk down the Pier bridge for amazing views and fun.
