May 18

3rd Annual Rick Crocker 5k Run Walk Challenge

**PIER PARKING DECK | 4:00PM**
A walk/run benefitting the Police Activities League (PAL). This all-ages event is held in honor of Officer Rick Crocker, a 10-year veteran of the Santa Monica Police Department and a Marine Corps Reserve Officer, who was killed while serving his country in Iraq on May 26, 2005. Officer Crocker’s last assignment was serving the Police Activities League, where he mentored the most vulnerable youth in our community.

Santa Monica Music Center Youth Band

Indio Downey

**PIER PARKING DECK | 7:00PM-8:00PM**
Indio Downey is a Los Angeles based artist accompanied by drummer Jackson Morris and bassist Cristóbal. With their unique instrumental arrangements accompanied by front man Downey's resonant vocals and lead guitar, the band creates a sound that sets them apart from anything else in the alternative rock genre.
The release of Indio’s debut single, “Headspace,” marked the beginning of the band’s rise to prominence in the alt rock scene. Their sophomore single, “Runaway”, showcased even more of the raw yet wildly relatable flair that’s characteristic of the band’s edgy music. Indio Downey is expected to release his third single, “September”, in February 2023, paving the way for the highly anticipated untitled EP at the end of the year.

Strawberry Fuzz

Carrying on a lineage that stretches from The Doors to FIDLAR, indie punk band **Strawberry Fuzz** document the wildlife in and around their Venice Beach turf. Channeling stories of parties, violence, and camaraderie through a keenly observant lens, they meticulously capture the smell, sound, taste and feel of life on the streets, in the bars, bedrooms and basements of the bleary side of Los Angeles.
Inspired by artists like The Cramps, Black Flag and The Germs as well as Elvis, RL Burnside and Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Strawberry Fuzz’s manic live show was perfectly captured on their debut collection of demos Fuzztapes Vol. 1.
