fight pancreatic cancer in a comprehensive way. Your participation and fundraising support essential
research like the PanCAN Early Detection Initiative and vital programs like free support and resources from PanCAN Patient Services.
We’re bringing together pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters for
a memorable day. Jean Trebek, wife of the late “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek, and Eric Idle, British
comedian, actor and author, and a four-year pancreatic cancer survivor, will speak at this year’s opening
ceremony. Also returning to PurpleStride for the third year with their team Trek Against Pancreatic Cancer are “Star Trek” actors Kitty Swink, a 19-year pancreatic cancer survivor and her husband, Armin Shimerman. All are participating in an effort to raise awareness and funds to support life-changing programs and services for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.
This year PurpleStride Los Angeles will have a new and exciting sports-themed Purple Playzone. LA’s professional sports teams including the LA Lakers, LA Galaxy, LA Kings and the LA Clippers will be on hand with fun giveaways, activations and appearances from LA Kings’ mascot Bailey, LA Galaxy’s mascot Cosmo and Star Squad, LA Laker Girls and LA Clippers’ mascot Chuck the Condor. Crypto.com Arena will have a contest to win signed LA Lakers and LA Kings memorabilia. KCAL(CBS) TV’s Suzanne Marques is scheduled to emcee the event.
